Privacy, with room to write.
Effective October 2, 2026. This policy covers LeftBlank for Mac and leftblank.app, published by Fenjin Wang.
Your documents
LeftBlank edits and typesets documents locally on your Mac. We do not collect your manuscripts, exports or editing history, and do not operate a server that receives them. There is no advertising or analytics SDK in the app. You do not need a LeftBlank account.
Network requests and optional services
When you browse the Typst package catalog, download packages, templates or sample books, LeftBlank contacts the relevant catalog or download host. Those providers receive the network information necessary to serve the request, such as your IP address. Opening a document that requires an unbundled package can trigger a package download; it does not upload your document to us. Third-party services have their own privacy policies.
If you use an iCloud-enabled build and turn on iCloud, document synchronization is handled by Apple through your Apple Account. We cannot access your iCloud documents. The independently distributed Preview can check for updates and download releases.
This website
The website uses no analytics, advertising trackers or third-party fonts. Language and appearance choices are stored only in your browser. The hosting provider processes network requests to deliver the site. Downloading examples does not require an account.
Support and your choices
You can delete your local files and browser preferences yourself and manage iCloud data through Apple. If you choose to contact support or submit a public GitHub issue, the content you provide will be used to handle your request. Avoid including private manuscripts in public issues. For support or a privacy question, contact [email protected] or visit LeftBlank support.
